Why have a monitored alarm system?
Having a monitored alarm is the ONLY way to ensure that your alarm will be responded to.
A non-monitored or standalone alarm system will have sirens and flashing lights to alert people nearby of an activation, however this relies on the reactions of people hearing your alarm and taking action and responsibility for the activation. In most cases where you have a standalone business alarm, you will only know it has activated once you return to work, which will often be too late to do anything about it.
The New Zealand Police recommend the monitoring of alarm systems as an additional safeguard to ensure the safety of your employees and property. By having your alarm system monitored by Nelson Alarms Monitoring, you can rest assured that your premises is constantly being protected and that our professional team will respond immediately to any alarm activation.
Our operators will process the alarm signals and follow the ‘response’ procedure to establish whether the alarm is genuine or a false activation. A typical response could consist of the building owner being contacted, followed by other suitable people, then backed up by a security guard of your choice. Other clients choose to leave all physical response in the hands of a guard. Nelson Alarms does not provide a guard callout service; however we can recommend one suitable for your area.
We have rigorous backup systems in place, incorporating independent power supplies, redundant servers and communications equipment – so you can be sure that 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, you and your property are protected.
To add further value to our service, Nelson Alarms Monitoring has a qualified technician to review all signals daily. We are not currently aware of another monitoring station that provides this level of service.
